At the turn of the century, the Chicago World's Fair was the catalyst for the traveling Carnival in America. A wide, mile long strip at that fair known as 'The Midway' became a common theme at fairs and traveling shows that wound throughout the United States.Thrilling sideshow entertainment was enveloped in light and revelry, bringing sights unseen from far away- a dusty strip at once awash in color.
